Hyundai has issued a recall on nearly 40,000 vehicles due to an error causing the car to accelerate on its own, WSAZ reports.
Vehicles included in the recall include Hyundai Elantra HEVs produced from 2021 through 2023.
The recall was issued after it was discovered the vehicles contained a software error that could potentially cause the vehicle to accelerate after the brake pedal was released.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified via mail by October 17 and may bring their vehicles to any Hyundai dealership to have them fixed for free.
