The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) will be holding an event to showcase the careers available in manufacturing and repairing electrified vehicles, according to a press release.

The Energizing a Sustainable EV & Mobility Workforce Ecosystem event will center around the work being done by the EV Jobs Academy, a program funded by state grants, and which Governor Gretchen Whitmer described as an initiative connecting residents with high-paying jobs in the automotive industry.

The EV Jobs Academy trains individuals to work in the EV and mobility industries and provides tuition assistance and supportive services, such as opportunities to earn income during their studies through registered apprenticeship programs.

The event is set to take place on September 14 at the North American International Auto Show located at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan. It is open to the public and will learn about how the program helps individuals connect with occupations that are in high demand.
