Hiring Entry Level Auto Technicians? ASE Recommends Seeing Who’s Certified

Businesses currently looking to hire entry-level technicians are urged to see who in their community holds ASE Entry Level certification.

The ASE Education Foundation has encouraged businesses hiring entry-level service professionals to inquire about ASE Entry Level certification in a recent press release.

With more than 50,000 students having Entry Level certification, the tests are aimed at students in career and technical programs and are a common next step for those pursuing a career in the automobile, collision repair/refinish and medium/heavy duty truck industries.

According to ASE Education Foundation President Mike Coley, some states are requiring students to hold industry credentials. Businesses currently looking to hire entry-level technicians are urged to see who in their community holds Entry Level certification as a starting point for finding talent.

“ASE Entry Level certification gives employers confidence that they are hiring individuals with the knowledge and the ability to succeed in entry-level roles and the potential to become high-performing employees,” explained Coley. “Employing ASE Entry Level certified candidates also communicates a commitment to service excellence to customers and provides repair facilities with a competitive edge in the marketplace.”
