California Auto Shop Collecting Holiday Gifts for Local Nursing Home

It’s a secret Santa-style initiative that Precision Automotive has held for the past 17 years.

An auto repair shop in Manteca, California, has partnered with a local nursing home to provide its residents with gifts for the holidays, the Manteca/Ripon Bulletin reports.

The public and other businesses are invited to visit Precision Automotive’s shop at 475 Moffat Blvd. to pick an ornament containing the wish list of gifts for a Manteca Care & Rehabilitation Center resident off the Giving Tree in the lobby.

It’s a secret Santa-style initiative that Precision Automotive has held for the past 17 years in partnership with the nursing home. Owner Raj Lal was adamant about continuing the tradition after he took over the business around seven years ago.

This year, the tree has 83 bulbs, with each one holding a list of three potential gifts for a resident. While the gifts are intended to be simple, gifts outside of the list can be considered as well.

It’s uncertain if the nursing home will host a Christmas gathering this year; since the COVID-19 pandemic, holiday gatherings have been limited to just residents, making the extra support from the community all the more important.
