ASE Holding Webinar on EV Charging and Cooling Systems

Jan. 26, 2024
Peter McArdle of Standard Motor Products will teach attendees to understand and diagnose charging problems with electric vehicles.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) will be holding a webinar on diagnosing problems with electric vehicle charging and EV cooling systems, according to a press release.

The “EV Charging and High-Voltage Cooling” webinar will take place on Jan. 30, with Peter McArdle of Standard Motor Products leading the session.

McArdle will cover the different charging connectors that currently exist for PHEVs and EVs, as well as their voltage conversions.

As electricity is converted–from AC to DC, back to AC, and so on–the vehicle generates a great deal of heat, requiring the use of cooling systems to maintain the temperature of the battery.

McArdle will delve into what systems currently exist to maintain the temperature inside these vehicles, including air, coolant, traditional AC, heat pump AC, or a combination.

Those interested in attending the webinar may register here. Participants of the live webinar will receive a certificate of attendance afterward. Anyone unable to watch it live is still encouraged to register and obtain a recorded session afterward, if available.
