An auto repair shop in Fort Collins, Colorado, has partnered with a nonprofit to provide a single mother with reliable transportation, reports BizWest.

For the past 16 years, Houska Automotive Services Inc. has partnered with Project Self-Sufficiency, a nonprofit that helps low-income single parents attain financial stability.

This year, Houska’s 16th vehicle for the nonprofit–a 2012 GMC Terrain vehicle with 76,000 miles–was awarded to a single mother named Victoria during Colorado State University’s Lagoon Summer Concert Series.

In addition to having to commute approximately 100 miles daily to Denver as she works towards earning an associate degree in respiratory therapy, the new vehicle will allow Victoria to reliably take her son to school and sports activities.

“As many of us know, raising kids is not an easy job, especially if you don’t have reliable transportation,” Houska Vice President LJ Houska stated. “Hopefully, this car will make Victoria’s life a little easier. Helping with transportation needs/issues is what we have done for the past 72 years.”
