Older Tesla Model 3s Are Being Retrofit With Suspensions From Its Newer Counterpart

In 2023, Tesla released a revamped Model 3 vehicle with improved suspension—but it also has allowed owners of used Model 3s to now retrofit their vehicles with a new and improved suspension, according to Inside EVs.

The new Model 3 features improved dampers, springs, and bushings, which many have discovered also fit onto the original Model 3. Since it was first delivered to customers in 2017, the Model 3 has had criticisms over its firm suspension.

A new set of front shocks, springs, and rear shocks can be purchased directly from Tesla for around $600, compared to something like Unplugged Performance’s Luxury Suspension Kit, which sells for anywhere between $1,075 and $1,395 without installation.

As shown by YouTuber The Fit IT Guy, the process does not require any adapters or extra bits, only new struts and springs from Tesla.
