Rational Automotive Repair of Austin Acquired; Rebranded as North Star Automotive

After nearly four decades in the Austin, Texas, auto service community, Rational Automotive Repair has been acquired and will be rebranded as North Star Automotive, according to a press release.

Rational Automotive Repair was first opened in 1987 by Paul Sims after leaving the dealership world. New owners Bill and DeAnna Rogers and their son, Ryan Hawkins, plan to build a regional network of auto repair shops across the Southern United States under the North Star Automotive brand.

It took Sims reaching out and talking with several brokers before he found one he was comfortable with and that could help him through the process.

“It was important to me that the next owners uphold the reputation we've built,” said Sims.

With a portfolio of small businesses across Texas, the Rogers family has extensive entrepreneurial experience. Hawkins, who will lead day-to-day operations, also has a decade of experience in the auto parts industry.
