Technician Find has released a new tool to help shops generate responses to negative online reviews, as shared in a recent press release.
The creation of the AI-powered review response tool was prompted by hundreds of client recruitment campaigns analyzed by Technician Find, in which qualified technicians were clicking on well-made job ads, only to leave at the final application stage. The organization found that job-seeking technicians consistently Google potential employers before applying, and are turned off by negative reviews that go unanswered.
“Here's what techs think when they see unanswered customer complaints: ‘If they won't respond to customers, how will they treat ME?’” said Chris Lawson, founder of Technician Find. “That one-star review you ignored six months ago? It just cost you your next A-tech.”
Technician Find’s custom GPT, free to all members of the Technician Find Skool community, is a tool designed to help shop owners craft professional responses to negative reviews. It guides users through a series of prompts, gathers context about the negative review, and then generates a customized response.
“The automotive industry has traditionally focused on pay, benefits, and working conditions to attract technicians,” added Lawson. “While those remain crucial, we're seeing that online reputation has become a silent deal-breaker. Technicians are making career decisions based on how shops handle criticism and customer service challenges.”
