A family-owned auto repair shop in Fresno, California, was recently robbed of more than $80,000 worth of tools and equipment, forcing it to temporarily cease operations.

FOX26 reports that thieves broke into 1st Class Auto Works over Labor Day weekend, stealing tools, equipment, and two customer vehicles: a Ferrari and a Mini Cooper. Both cars were recovered, though the Mini Cooper was totaled and the Ferrari sustained damages.

The tools and equipment, however, are still gone. The stolen items were essential tools the shop acquired over the course of decades, including Snap-on diagnostic scanners, air and cordless tools, Miller welding equipment, plasma cutters, shop vacuums, and professional paint guns.

Now, the shop—which has been in operation for over 20 years—has been forced to suspend all services, with the owner unsure when they will be able to resume.

The family has opened a GoFundMe to help recuperate the loss, and are asking the local community for support. As of Sept. 10, the fundraiser has achieved 27% of its goal with $6,467 raised.

“My dad has always been the kind of person who helps others—whether it’s fixing someone’s car late at night or going the extra mile for a customer,” wrote Kylie Atachian, the fundraiser’s organizer. “Now he’s the one who needs help, and it’s not easy for him to ask. That’s why I’m asking for him.”
