Faulty Seatbelt Assemblies Prompt Hyundai to Recall Over 500K Palisade Vehicles

The recall affects Hyundai Palisade SUVs, with the issue stemming from seatbelt parts produced with out-of-spec physical dimensions.
Sept. 19, 2025

Hyundai has issued a recall for over 500,000 vehicles due to faulty seatbelt assemblies, reports Reuters.

Covered in the recall are Palisade vehicles from model years 2020 to 2025, making up a total of 568,580 units.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue lies with defective parts within the seat belt buckle assemblies. NHTSA shared these parts may have been produced with physical dimensions that were out of specification.

Until a repair is performed, drivers are being instructed to use quick and direct motions when inserting a seat buckle, and to pull on it to ensure it’s fully secured.
