Improper Installation of Tow Hitch Wiring Harness Prompts Hyundai Recall
Hyundai has recalled over 50,000 vehicles for a fire risk, reports PennLive.
Included in the recall are 2022 to 2024 model year Tucson models with the optional Mobis tow hitch wiring harness, which may have been incorrectly installed.
The incorrect installation can lead to water entering the control module, prompting the trailer lighting to fail, or an electrical short circuit.
Hyundai has told owners to park outside and away from structures until a recall remedy is completed. Owners will be notified by mail beginning Feb. 16, 2026. Dealers will replace the trailer wiring harness as needed.
