University of the Aftermarket Announces 2026 Course Lineup
The University of the Aftermarket has announced its 2026 course lineup in a recent press release.
Developed in collaboration with Northwood University faculty and leading aftermarket executives, the course lineup features opportunities for all professionals at all career stages— from those new to the industry to experienced leaders seeking to sharpen strategy and drive organizational performance.
“Our mission is to advance the automotive aftermarket by equipping professionals with the skills, connections, and real-world experience they need to lead in a dynamic environment,” said James O’Dell, director of corporate education for the University of the Aftermarket. “As a leader in professional education for the automotive and aftermarket industry, Northwood University is uniquely positioned at the intersection of academia and real-world industry needs. The University of the Aftermarket courses are immersive experiences designed to step leaders out of daily operations and more into strategic thinking.”
The following courses will be held online, March 16-May 10:
- Aftermarket Field Sales Management — Develop effective territory management,
forecasting, expense control, and team leadership skills. - Business Productivity Software — Build proficiency in essential tools, including
spreadsheets, presentations, and workflow systems. - Conflict Resolution & Problem Solving — Strengthen decision-making and
communication skills for high-pressure business environments. - Consumer Behavior — Understand purchasing decisions, brand loyalty, and the
psychology behind customer choices. - Human Resource Management — Learn key principles of hiring, compensation,
performance management, and compliance. - Practice of Management & Leadership — Enhance leadership capabilities that shape
culture, guide change, and improve team performance. - Selling & Sales Management — Master the sales process from prospecting to long-
term account growth and leadership.
Additionally, the following courses will be held in person at various locations in Michigan, starting later this spring:
- Aftermarket 101 (May 18-19 in Southfield) — A foundational overview of the
aftermarket ecosystem for those new to the industry or seeking deeper insight. - HD Aftermarket 101 (May 20–21 in Southfield) — An introduction to the heavy-
duty segment, covering market structure, opportunities, and key players. - Aftermarket Data Standards (June 16–17 in Farmington Hills) — Gain working
knowledge of ACES and PIES standards and their impact on product data
management. - HD Leadership 2.0 (July 19–23 in Metro Detroit) — An intensive program for
heavy-duty leaders focused on leadership, communication, and real-world problem
solving. - Leadership 2.0 (Aug. 9–12 and March 2027 in Midland) — Two immersive sessions
exploring real-world case studies, competitive advantage, and leadership execution. - Infusion 2026 (Sept. 20–24 in Metro Detroit) — An executive development
experience focused on strategy, competitive positioning, and business performance,
including an international session in 2027.
