An auto repair shop in Somerton, Arizona, recently hosted Senator Mark Kelly to discuss the impact tariffs have had on its operations, reports KYMA.

Yepez Automotive Repair is a family-owned shop, currently operated by Jose Yepez. The business has felt the impact of tariffs through increased prices on imported parts, leading to higher repair costs and more customers delaying service.

“Price increases on automotive parts have gone up, I want to say maybe about 15% or so, plus or minus,” told Yepez. “And that cost gets directly passed on to our customers.”

Kelly added that what Yepez described is what he sees many other small businesses currently facing.

“They have to make a decision. Do they pass this on to their customers or not?” said Kelly. “So it either eats into their margin or it makes American families have to pay more.”
