Jan. 23, 2014—The popularity of J-2534 issues in National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) service information requests, help line calls and social media discussions has resulted in it becoming the main topic for the NASTF Spring 2014 General Meeting, according to a recent communication from the organization.
J-2534 issues pertain to reprogramming vehicle control modules from a shop laptop. With the variability among OEM and automaker websites, browser compatibility, and OEM and aftermarket pass-through devices, NASTF recognizes that even the best technicians often face daunting challenges in reprogramming jobs on some vehicles.
Presentations during the meeting will address the following issues:
- How to make reprogramming successful.
- Why OEM J-box capabilities are not the same.
- Using a J-box for more than programming.
The NASTF meeting will also reveal details of NASTF committee activities including initiatives in OEM scan tools, vehicle security, OEM education resources, and collision repair information.
Admission to the meeting is free, and no pre-registration is necessary. The meeting will be held at the Doubletree Hotel Seattle Airport in SeaTac, Wash., on March 20.
