Advance Auto Parts Announces Departure of President

July 29, 2016—Advance Auto Parts Inc. announced Friday the departure of the company’s president, George Sherman.
Sherman will step down from his current role on Aug. 13, and will assist the company with the transition through the end of the year.
“I want to thank George for his contributions to Advance and his willingness to assist with a smooth transition,” CEO Tom Greco said. “George has played a vital leadership role in the integration of the Advance and Carquest teams, and has helped to create a more field and customer focused company by empowering our stores and field leaders to better serve customers. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Sherman joined Advance Auto Parts in 2013 as president. He also served as interim CEO from January through April 2016. Sherman’s leadership team will now report to Greco.
