April 23, 2013—The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced yesterday that Dan Risley has been named interim executive director of the organization.
The announcement came following Ron Pyle’s decision to step down as president and chief staff executive. Pyle joined the national staff in July 2002 and became president in November 2002.
Risley joined ASA in March as executive vice president after six years at Allstate Insurance Co., where he was a market claims manager. Prior to that, he served as executive director of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS).
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve an association with the storied history of ASA,” Risley said in a statement. “The ASA board of directors is committed to strengthening the association through open communication and collaboration. I intend on helping them fulfill that commitment.”
Pyle will continue to work with ASA in an advisory capacity until the end of the year.
“This transition of executive leadership has been in process for several months,” Pyle said in a statement. “I am very pleased that Dan Risley was willing and ready to assume his new role, because he possesses all the necessary skills and has the enthusiasm and energy required to lead ASA in these challenging times,”
