Auto Care Association Study Analyzes Online Parts Sales
Sept. 25, 2014—Three auto parts categories represent half of the dollar volume of dollars spent on automotive replacement parts through online purchasing in 2013, according to a new study from the Auto Care Association.
The top three product categories are braking systems, ignition and engine, and glass, mirrors and lamps.
The study, “E-tailing in the Automotive Aftermarket,” analyzed the online retail market for sales of aftermarket parts.
The Auto Care Association said the study will serve as the foundation to provide a unified estimate of online sales within the aftermarket.
The full report provides an analysis of the e-tailing channel based upon an analysis of pre-existing studies, existing data, consumer and installer surveys, and in-depth interview within the industry.
