Tesla is getting rid of yearly service programs as it focuses on an as-needed approach.

March 23, 2019—Tesla is getting rid of yearly service programs as it focuses on an as-needed approach, Electrek reports. Prior to the move, Tesla offered extended service plans including yearly service inspections for its vehicles.

According to Electrek, the offering comes as electric vehicles require less maintenance, and Tesla reportedly feels confident in the move to an as-needed model.

Telsa still recommends the following maintenance services, Electrek reports: cabin air filter, high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter, tire rotation, balance and wheel alignment, brake fluid test, air conditioning service, and winter care.
