Meineke Franchise Pays $12.5M Settlement

A woman who suffered serious injuries in a crash after receiving Meineke service later sued the shop.

May 12, 2021—A Meineke franchise in Washington state will pay a $12.5 million settlement in a customer lawsuit.

The Associated Press reports that the customer claimed the Meineke shop's inspection missed a "malfunctioning tire" that caused a crash. The crash left the customer with a traumatic brain injury after she was thrown from the vehicle.

The customer now uses a wheelchair for mobility.
