Nov. 19, 2019—Dodge is recalling over 30,000 minivans because seats and seatbelts may become loose in a crash, reported Consumer Reports.
Some of the strikers were improperly welded. As a result, the seats can become loose in a crash, seats may not withstand crash forces, and seat belts may not be able to properly restrain passengers. Even if a crash does not occur, owners of affected vehicles may notice that the second- and third-row seats feel loose.
Vehicles affected by the recall include models manufactured between April 29, 2019 and July 3, 2019. The recall is expected to begin December 13, 2019.
Dealers will weld a reinforcement bracket onto the seat strikers, which should prevent them from failing.
