May 14, 2018
Ford shut down truck plants earlier this week because of parts shortages caused by a fire at a Michigan supplier. Production could continue this Friday.

May 14, 2018—Ford might resume production of its F-150 pickups as early as Friday, May 18, in Dearborn, Mich., and Kansas City, Mo., according to a report from Reuters.

Also on Friday, Mercedes-Benz said SUV production at its Alabama plant stopped on Thursday because of parts shortages cause by the fire at a Meridian Magnesium Products plant in Eaton Rapids, Mich., according to the report.

Mercedes said the Alabama plant will reopen this week on a "modified production schedule".

Production of F-series Super Duty pickup trucks at Ford’s Louisville plant remains suspended, but production of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator large sports utility vehicles, also made there, has not been affected, said the report.
