Pep Boys President and CEO Resigns

Sept. 26, 2014—Mike Odell, president and CEO of Pep Boys, announced his resignation on Friday, effective immediately.

Odell also resigned his position on the company's board of directors.

Director John Sweetwood was named interim CEO by the company.

Sweetwood has served on Pep Boys’ board of directors since 2002 and is currently the president of Woods Investment LLC, a private real estate investment firm.

Pep Boys said the board of directors intends to conduct a search among internal and external candidates for a permanent CEO.

“On behalf of the board, I want to thank Mike for his contributions during the past seven years and wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Robert Hotz, chairman of the board.
