Oct. 19, 2015

Oct. 19, 2015—General Motors has added several hundred vehicles to the Takata airbag defect recall, according to a report by USA Today.

GM is recalling 395 certain 2015 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Camaro, Equinox, Malibu, and GMC Terrain vehicles. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the vehicles have front seat-mounted side impact airbags that may rupture when deployed.

Takata notified GM of a failed airbag test earlier this month and GM notified dealers on Friday, according to an NHTSA recall report. Vehicle owners will begin receiving notifications on Monday.
