Feb. 26, 2016—MAHLE has been awarded the Volvo Group’s 2016 Supplier Award in the category of Innovation and Fuel Efficiency.
Volvo highlighted the MAHLE Monoweld steel piston as an example of permanent contribution toward fuel efficiency. This two-piece, friction-welded piston, which has been used at Volvo since the launch of EURO VI engines, is tuned for interaction with other components in the PCU supplied by MAHLE as a complete system.
MAHLE was also recognized for its expertise in the powertrain and the complete vehicle over many years. MAHLE supplies air conditioning systems, engine cooling systems and cylinder head cover systems with integrated oil mist separation, in addition to the PCU.
