According to Jim Lang, Carl Icahn is looking to control the auto supplier, the auto parts store and the shops that buy the parts.

Dec. 5, 2017—Icahn Automotive Group LLC has purchased BS&F Auto Parts Inc. in New York City from Joe Ferrer, according to Modern Tire Dealer.

In August, Icahn, CEO of Icahn Automotive Group, finished an acquisition of 250 Precision Tune Auto Care shops. It's all part of Icahn's vertical integration model, said Jim Lang, as Icahn is looking to control the auto supplier (Federal-Mogul), auto parts store (Auto Plus) and the shops that buy the parts (Precision, Pep Boys, Just Brakes).

Icahn has named Ferrer regional vice president of commercial in the New York City metropolitan area. He began his new duties on Nov. 29, 2017.

Located in the Bronx, BS&F Auto Parts has a 10,000-square-foot warehouse.

In a statement, Icahn Automotive Group said:

“With Joe Ferrer’s drive and passion for being unsurpassed in customer service and parts availability, Pep Boys, Auto Plus, and BS&F have an excellent opportunity to drive commercial growth in the region.”

Icahn Automotive Group consists of Pep Boys, an automotive aftermarket retail and service chain, and Auto Plus, an automotive aftermarket parts distributor.
