May 9, 2016—The Lincoln MKZ is the most expensive car to fix, while the Nissan Sentra is the most affordable car to fix, according to a recent study from RepairPal.
RepairPal Institute, the research and data science division of RepairPal, conducted a study of the average cost of common auto repairs for 40 of the most popular car models in the U.S., forming the RepairPal Institute Auto Service Cost Index.
The study used the average cost of four common auto repairs: water pump, alternator, brake pad replacement, and oil change service. The 40 most popular car models for 2010 within a representative sample of zip codes across the U.S. were categorized as compact, mid-sized, luxury, or SUV.
