Aug. 15, 2014—KYB Americas has completed the expansion of its KYB Technical Center in Franklin, Ind., the company announced Thursday.
The technical center operates next to KYB’s 575,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and houses new product development, quality control and conditions testing equipment.
“Our global development team and engineers in Franklin worked side by side to create a state of the art expansion that underlines KYB’s global philosophy of Our Precision, Your Advantage,” said Mike Fiorito, KYB Americas vice president “By continuously improving our research and development, internal testing capabilities, manufacturing procedures and assembly processes, we are able to more effectively deliver KYB products that continue to earn quality awards worldwide.”
The expansion includes 12,000 square feet for KYB engineers to tests on shock and strut designs, valve seal durability, stress, vibration and fatigue tolerance. It also has complete CNC machining and welding, which will allow the engineering team to bring prototypes straight to the tech center floor from the initial concept.
