Feb. 14, 2019—An auto repair shop in New Mexico was recognized during a ceremony at Western New Mexico University. The 2018 Star Client award was presented to Mitchel's Auto Service and Repair, LLC of Deming, N.M. by the Small Business Development Center at Western New Mexico University, Deming Headlight reports.
The award was presented by New Mexico lieutenant governor Howie Morales, according to the publication.
The business has used the University's Small Business Development Center for advising services, and continued to work on the business after being severely burned in an accident weeks after opening the shop, the publication reports.
“Mario LaFragola, my Small Business Development Center adviser, didn’t just sit me down and say, ‘I will fix that for you.’ He walked me through everything so that I could understand it,” Mitchel Boomgaarn said to the Deming Headlight. “Now I have more insight into what’s going on, and I have a better chance for this business to succeed.”
