Employee Suffers Third Degree Burns in Shop Fire

The employee is currently being treated in the hospital and is expected to recover. 

Oct. 11, 2022—A fuel line ruptured and caught fire at a shop in Alabama, sending an employee to the hospital. 

According to ABC 3340 News, police in Cullman said the fire occurred at Just GM Auto and Truck Repair Plus. It began at around 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. The injured employee was working on a vehicle at the time of the blaze. A fuel line ruptured, caught fire and burned the employee. 

The employee, who is expected to recover, is being treated for third degree burns. Shop Manager Chris Phillips was on location when the fire occurred, and he told ABC 3340 News that three of the shop's four service bays need to be rebuilt as a result of the damage. 

He also said the community has been stepping up, offering the team food and other supplies as needed.
