May 13, 2022—Hyundai is recalling 215,000 vehicles over a hose issue and Mercedes-Benz is recalling over 292,000 models due to a braking problem.
According to MLive, the Hyundai recall affects some 2013 and 2014 Sonata Sedans. Many of these sedans were recalled in 2020 regarding the same issue.
Low-pressure fuel hoses in these vehicles can crack due to engine heat, and fuel may leak and cause an increased risk of fire.
Owners of vehicles affected by this recall will be notified starting July 5 and the faulty hoses will be replaced.
According to Consumer Reports, the Mercedes-Benz recall impacts some GL-, ML- and R-Class SUVs from 2006 through 2012.
Prolonged water exposure can cause some braking components to become damaged. As a result, brakes may have reduced performance or could fail altogether.
Drivers of affected vehicles may notice a hissing noise when applying the brakes or a change in how the brake pedal feels.
Owners of vehicles involved in the recall will be notified starting on May 27.
