Ford to Open Battery Factory in Turkey

Automaker positioning to compete with Tesla for EV market share.

Mar. 16, 2022—Ford announced it will partner with Turkish conglomerate Koç Holding to place a battery factory in Turkey, Daily Sabah reports.

The decision comes a week after Ford split its businesses into two divisions to serve gas-powered and electric vehicle markets.

Ford aims to make all its vehicles electronic by 2035 in a move to better compete with electric car pioneer Tesla.
