July 12, 2021—An Ohio city school district Board of Education has formally approved the leasing of a facility that will house an automotive technologies program for the next five years, reported the Akron Beacon Journal

The 7,428-square-foot building was previously used by another repair service business. The district will pay $54,000 annually to use the building for the auto tech program through June 30, 2026. The program will offer classes to students in six Ohio school districts.

Tom Barone, the district's director of operations, told the outlet that the Cuyahoga Falls location is "ideal" to offer students "real world" experiences at nearby automotive repair shops, body shops and dealerships. He added that the owner of the site, Greg Willis, is a graduate of the Six District Compact's auto tech program and supportive of the district's effort.
