Students in Gaylord High School’s auto shop program in Gaylord, Michigan have received two vehicles to practice working on, the Petoskey News-Review reports.

A 2014 and a 2015 Ford Focus were received by the school from Bill Marsh Ford of Gaylord as part of a program through Ford that allows dealerships to buy back used vehicles as long as they are donated to an education facility.

Currently, the school only has a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina to work on. Bill Marsh Ford of Gaylord General Manager Steve Hutchinson said that providing the students with more recently made vehicles will better equip them for the work they will see if they were to pursue a career in the industry.

The cars will be on display for the district on Tuesday, September 19, at the high school’s auto shop. Students in the program will be there, as well as ​​team members from Bill Marsh Ford, Vesco Oil, Kirkland Community College and more. Informative presentations will be held at the event and students will get to hear those in the industry share their experiences.

“Supporting the youth is something that everybody in the community should have a part in, whether you have kids in the school or not,” said Hutchinson. “That's that's the future workforce. The future of our community is our youth.”
