Jan. 12, 2023—Goodyear’s “demonstration tire,” which is made up of 90% sustainable materials, has passed its internal and regulatory testing.
As reported by Green Car Reports, Goodyear said the new tire “was shown to have a lower rolling resistance than a comparable conventional tire” and would best work for EVs or vehicles designed to maximize gas mileage.
According to the tire manufacturer, some ingredients used included carbon black, soybean oil, silica, recycled polyester from bottles, renewable pine tree resins and recycled steel for the cord.
