SMP Continues to Expand Hybrid and EV Parts Catalog

Standard Motor Products is expanding its current parts offered for hybrid and electric vehicles as repairs on them become more common.

March 9, 2023–Standard Motor Products (SMP) is expanding its current parts offered for hybrid and electric vehicles, according to a press release.

The company’s Standard and Four Seasons brands are now offering more than 4,000 parts available to 150 hybrid models in order to better adapt to the growing number of repairs on hybrid vehicles.

For EVs, which have many of the same functions as ICE vehicles while introducing new features related to “the thermal management of high-voltage battery and drive motor components,” Standard offers more than 1,900 parts for 40 models, with plans to introduce even more.

The company has recently introduced “a universal Battery Pack Charging Cord for electric vehicles and Stoplight Switches and Brake Pedal Travel Sensors for hybrid models like the Toyota Prius and Lexus ES300h.”

Since 2022, SMP has made an effort to offer parts for hybrids and EVs, having introduced “258 SKUs for hybrid vehicles, 60 SKUs for electric vehicles, and 1,530 SKUs in the powertrain-neutral category” in total.

Jack Ramsey, senior vice president of sales and marketing at SMP, said that “as hybrid and electric vehicle sales increase, SMP is prepared to meet the growing demand for high-quality replacement parts.”
