Ford has recalled over 1.5 million vehicles in the U.S. due to issues with faulty brake hoses and windshield wipers, Detroit Free Press reports.

Two separate recalls were issued, the first one being for “nearly 1.3 million 2013 through 2018 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKX midsize cars.” According to documents from safety regulators, the front brake hoses pose a risk of busting open and leaking brake fluid. 

This can cause the vehicle to go longer distances before coming to a complete stop, and as of now has caused one crash with “no mention of injuries.”

Dealers will replace the hoses at no cost. Ford will begin sending letters to owners on April 17, with a second one following that once repair parts are available.

The second recall concerns windshield wiper arms breaking and applies to “more than 222,000 F-150 pickups from 2021.” This will be repaired by dealers “if needed,” with owners of affected vehicles to be “notified starting March 27.”
