A repair shop dedicated to working on hybrid vehicles is closing up shop to make way for Earthling Automotive: a shop dedicated to EVs, according to a press release.
Carolyn Coquillette is the CEO and founder of Luscious Garage, a shop she started in 2007 that focused on hybrid vehicles. Besides that, she’s also the CEO and founder of Shop-Ware, a SaaS auto repair software.
Seeing the rising popularity of EVs, Coquillette decided to put her efforts toward that market. Luscious Garage has closed its doors as of April 3, but will now serve as a training facility for technicians to learn about EVs.
Earthling Automotive will fill Luscious Garage’s place, offering service to EVs as well as hybrid vehicles. Coquillette said that “vehicle innovation, consumer adaptation, and California’s push for EV adoption” forced her company to reconsider the entirety of its “Aftermarket service concept.”
“Earthling Automotive proudly offers independent EV and hybrid service at a fair price, based on 16 years of experience in the Bay Area,” Coquillette stated. “Our mission is to lead the Aftermarket’s adaptation to hybrid and EV platforms.”
A grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held for the store at 615 Bayshore Blvd on April 19.
