The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has announced an option to take ASE recertification tests remotely through a new application called ProProctor, according to a press release.

ProProctor is available for all ASE recertification tests, save for the L1 and L2 tests. The application is to help service professionals complete recertification without the need to visit a test center.

They must be scheduled in advance and are monitored live by multiple proctors throughout the test. There will be a remote testing user guide provided in a confirmation e-mail to those who schedule a test-taking session.

Before scheduling a session, the ASE recommends test-takers take the time to ensure they have the Google Chrome browser and the ProProctor application installed on their computers and to complete the system readiness check. Test-takers must also have a movable web camera.
