SMP Recognized for Reducing Carbon Footprint

Standard Motor Products (SMP) has been named on USA Today’s Inaugural List of America’s Climate Leaders–a list of companies that have reduced their carbon footprint and amount of greenhouse gas emissions over the past several years, according to a press release.

Beginning with a list of 2,000 U.S.-based companies, the selection was narrowed down to 400 companies that, between 2019 and 2021, showed a decrease in the amount of greenhouse gases being produced, with regard to the company’s revenue.

Of the 400 companies, SMP was one of seven automotive parts manufacturers that made it onto the final list.

“We are honored to have received this recognition and be part of such a small group in this Sector that met the criteria for this achievement,” stated Eric Sills, SMP’s Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. “Our sustainability efforts remain a top focus at SMP and, while we have much work to do, we are confident that the initiatives we have in place will continue to provide measured progress toward our long-term goals.”
