A study from iSeeCars recently looked at what states are moving the fastest toward EV adoption as well as which ones are lagging, Car Scoops reports.

The data revealed Alaska as the top state for EV adoption with a 272.1% change in alternative fuel share being seen over the past five years. Coming in next was West Virginia with a 200.9% change, followed by Colorado with 184.9%, New Jersey with 169.4%, and Louisana with 152.9%.

The state demonstrating the least growth in EV adoption was Hawaii, with only a 43.7% change in the past five years. After that came Oregon with a 47.8% change and New Mexico with 53.1%.

Though California only showed 63.5% of growth and Washington 63.6%, the two states along with Oregon were found to be the most in overall alternative fuel share.

“There may be a market threshold for alternative fuel vehicle share, above which it gets much more difficult to grow,” speculated iSeeCars Analyst Karl Brauer.
