A career and technical school in Meadville, Pennsylvania is looking to purchase an auto repair shop to use for its diesel training program, Meadville Tribune reports.

The PENNCREST School Board will be voting on a plan to purchase Integrity Complete Auto
Repair, located nearby Crawford Tech at 20763 Old Ellis Hill Road.

Not only will the move provide more space and allow for the diesel program to expand, but freed up space in the Crawford Tech building could mean an expansion for its welding program as well.

In order to acquire the property, approval must also be gained from Conneaut and Crawford Central school boards, with the committee overseeing Crawford Tech aimed to recommend an approval. 

In the event that all school boards approve the plan, Crawford Tech’s attorney will be able to submit a bid on the auto repair facility. It would cost the school $5,000 to opt out of the plan, but Bob Johnston, both a board member and Crawford Tech committee member, said the plan has been received positively by school officials. Crawford Tech Assistant Director Mike Costa said it is something being considered and investigated.
