Upcoming ASE Webinar to Cover Procedures for Monitor Tests
The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has announced an upcoming webinar that will cover the best practices for running monitor tests in a recent press release.
Led by technical trainer Rick Escalambre, the session is titled “OBDII Data - Reading Between the Lines,” and is scheduled for Jan. 16.
Participants will learn about the intricacies of running monitor tests, which is essential to the power control module being able to verify if a repair has been completed. A systemic method will be outlined to help technicians identify the necessary enable criteria, understand MODE $06, and witness the variables used to complete monitor tests.
Escalambre will also cover the efficiency of reviewing data parameter identification (PIDs) before starting a vehicle and how to find solutions for monitor tests failing or taking longer than expected.
Those who attend the live webinar will receive a certificate of attendance afterward. Those who are unable to watch it live are still encouraged to register to obtain a recorded session, if available.
