ASE Announces ‘Ignition Coil-On-Plug Diagnostics and Tips’ Webinar

Though the course is recommended for those with experience with basic scope patterns and operation, there may also be some useful knowledge for new scope users to take note of.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has announced an upcoming webinar titled “Ignition Coil-On-Plug (COP) Diagnostics and Tips” in a recent press release.

Led by Philip Austin of Niterra, the session will go over streamlining the ignition coil-on-plug diagnostic process by using “real-world” scan tool data and heavy scope waveform patterns.

Attendees will learn about topics including coil-on-plug (COP) operation, the two types of COP coil designs, different diagnostic testing, the difference between primary voltage testing vs primary current testing, and more.

Though the course is recommended for those with experience with basic scope patterns and operation, there may also be some useful knowledge for new scope users to take note of.

Those who attend the one-hour webinar will receive a certificate of attendance afterward. Anyone unable to view the live session may still register to obtain access to a recording, if available.
