ASE Hosting Webinar on Understanding and Diagnosing Engine Misfires

This free session led by Eric Ziegler covers essential diagnostic techniques for misfires, including analysis of scan data, mechanical integrity checks, and targeted testing methods.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence is hosting a free webinar on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 4:00 p.m. ET entitled “Misfire Diagnostics.”

Misfires originate from one of three areas: ignition, fuel or mechanical. This webinar, presented by Eric Ziegler from Worldpac, focuses on a logical diagnostic process using scan data, lab scope testing and targeted test techniques to quickly identify the source and determine the next diagnostic step.

Topics covered include:
•    Ignition, fuel and mechanical misfire causes
•    Scan data and mode $06 analysis
•    Lab scope testing for fault isolation
•    Mechanical integrity and cylinder contribution
•    Logical test selection and diagnostic direction

Participants in this webinar will receive a certificate of attendance for the live session. Please allow one week for automatic email delivery of the certificate.

After registering, a confirmation email will be sent containing information about joining the webinar. Those who are not sure if they can attend are encouraged to register as they will receive a follow-up email with details on how to attend a recorded session, if available. Registrants receive priority access to the recording.
