A recent survey has shown what electric vehicle owners need and are expecting from service and repair providers, according to Green Car Reports.
Analytics firm Escalent’s 2024 EVForward survey found that, even though EVs require less maintenance on average, it’s something those who drive them are still willing to invest in to protect their car.
Of those surveyed who were 15 times more likely to purchase an EV than other consumers, the majority said they would be willing to pay for a subscription plan for routine maintenance. 82% were interested in brake replacement plans, with 84% interested in tire replacement–two of the most common EV jobs.
EV owners are looking for more than just routine maintenance, though–they need a service provider who will educate them on how to care for their vehicles. Nearly 70% of those likely to purchase an EV and 48% of current EV owners said that taking informational courses on subjects such as battery range would be of interest to them.
