Electric Vehicle Manufacturer Lucid Looking to Partner With Traditional Automakers

Dec. 16, 2024
Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson said that they're already in conversations with a couple of automakers to potentially share costs and intellectual property.

Lucid’s CEO recently shared the company is considering partnering with traditional automakers, according to BNN Bloomberg.

Chief Executive Officer Peter Rawlinson told Bloomberg TV that Lucid is already in conversations with a couple of manufacturers to potentially share costs and intellectual property.

Lucid has previously expressed interest in partnering with other automakers. Rawlinson said that in August, the company experienced heightened interest in its technology.

The EV manufacturer’s rival, Rivian, recently entered a partnership with Volkswagen AG: a joint venture of up to $5.8 billion that enables the companies to share intellectual property and co-develop vehicles.

“It would be lovely if we could supply technology to a traditional car company to help them on their way to sustainability, and perhaps we can leverage economies of scale with their parts bin and other aspects of the business,” said Rawlinson.
