U.S. to Implement New Tariffs on Chinese Imports Beginning Nov. 1
U.S. President Donald Trump recently revealed plans to implement new tariffs on imports from China, as shared in a report from WardsAuto.
According to a social media post from Trump, 100% levies will be implemented beginning Nov. 1, and will stack on the combined duties that Chinese imports are already subject to.
The move comes in response to China placing export restrictions on rare-earth-related goods and technology, set to take effect Nov. 8. Though trade negotiations between China and the U.S. had relaxed in recent months, these events have prompted tension to rise again.
“I was to meet President Xi in two weeks, at APEC, in South Korea, but now there seems to be no reason to do so,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
