A recent storm in Norfolk, Virginia, has left local auto repair shops busy tending to damaged vehicles, reports WTKR News 3.

Following a Nor'easter that took place on Sunday, residents in Norfolk faced tidal flooding, bringing damage to vehicles across the region.

Shops in the area have had all hands on deck helping impacted drivers, such as All Star Automotive in Norfolk. Owner Al Crespo said the shop’s been seeing many vehicles needing intensive repairs, such as complete engine replacements.

“Repairs can be upwards of between $3,000 to $5,000 and more,” Crespo said.

Other cars need to have water removed from inside to prevent rusting or electrical problems, which can cost between $400 to $800.

Many cases of engine damage were the result of drivers attempting to drive through flooded roads. As such, Crespo and his shop have told drivers to just avoid water at all costs.
