A Midas franchisee in Ogden, Utah, refurbished and donated a car to a local veteran as part of Midas’ Project Spark initiative, as shared in a recent press release.

Nolan Sutton first joined the U.S. Army straight out of high school. As an engineer mechanic, he served at Fort Lewis, Washington, and was also stationed in California and Texas, where he played a key role in construction and repair projects for the Army and Border Patrol.

During his service, Sutton sustained a hand and wrist injury that made continuing in the mechanic field impossible. He moved on to a career in water damage and mold restoration, where he could work around his injury. Today, he works in the excavation industry, but has still faced a lack of reliable transportation.

When Brian Leitch, Midas franchisee, and his team heard Nolan’s story, they took action. Partnering with 1-800-Cars, they refurbished a 2014 Chevy Impala, ready for Sutton to drive.

The vehicle was gifted to Sutton on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at Midas of Ogden, located at 3459 Washington Blvd.
